General FAQs

Generally, you should pack your articles before they are stored, but we will handle the rest. We ask that you box up loose articles and protect anything fragile or valuable. You need to label everything (using the labels provided to ensure tracking).

When you book, each article will have a label generated. You can attach those labels yourself, or our team will bring them and label them at our warehouse (subject to a fee per article unlabeled). StoragePal's team will not do full packing of your belongings on site, but they will:

  • Take your boxes/furniture from your home
  • Provide any needed labels at our warehouse
  • Make sure each article is labeled and logged into your online inventory

As long as your articles are in boxes or ready to move, you can leave the heavy lifting to us.

Yes – StoragePal is designed to be flexible, so you can add (or remove) articles whenever you need. If you want to store additional articles, simply log in and schedule a new collect/drop-off for the new articles. We will come retrieve the new articles and add them to your existing storage inventory.

Your monthly billing will update automatically to include the new articles (you will receive an invoice for each order separately). Keep in mind our free collect service still applies – if it meets the free collect minimum.

Yes, of course. You can take something out of or put something into a carton or other container already in storage whenever you like. Simply reserve an on-site visit online through your StoragePal account.

Getting your belongings back is just as easy as storing them:

  1. Request a return: Log in to your StoragePal account and initiate a return for the article(s) you want back. You can select just a few articles or all of them – it is up to you.
  2. Schedule delivery: Choose a date and time slot for delivery to your home or office. We typically operate returns on next-day notice (or later dates you select).
  3. Receive your belongings: Our team will deliver your requested articles right to your door at the scheduled time. We will send you a reminder when we are on the way. You or someone you trust must be present to receive the articles.

If you would prefer to pick up your belongings yourself instead of having us deliver, you can choose ‘Me’ as a transport option and come to our storage facility in the 15th arrondissement. We will have your articles ready for you to collect in person.

We've made pricing simple and budget-friendly by charging per article rather than per square meter. Here are the key points of our pricing model:

  • Per-article monthly pricing: Each article you store incurs a monthly fee based on its size category. For example, a standard small box costs around €5 per month to store. Larger articles (like a couch or mattress) cost a bit more. You only pay for what you actually store.
  • No paying for empty space: Unlike a traditional storage unit where you pay a fixed price regardless of how full it is, with StoragePal if you store fewer articles, you pay less. Your bill scales with your storage – store more articles and the cost will increase, store fewer and it decreases.
  • Monthly billing cycle: We bill storage fees on a monthly basis. There's no long-term contract (it's not a prepaid yearly commitment); you are charged month-to-month for as long as your articles are in storage.
  • Adjustable costs: Your charges update automatically when you change your stored articles. If you add articles, your monthly fee goes up accordingly (starting the billing cycle when the articles are stored). If you remove articles, your next monthly bill will go down because you have fewer articles in storage. You will never pay for an article once it has been returned to you.
  • Minimum charge: There is a minimum monthly charge of €5 for storage. This covers a small carton box.

It's simple. You can either:

  • Select an article of roughly the same type and size.
  • Alternatively, create the article by entering its dimensions in our volume calculator at the top of the catalogue by clicking “No matching articles found? Create an article”.

Yes. For everyone's safety and to comply with laws, we cannot accept certain articles for storage. Please DO NOT store the following:

  • Hazardous materials: This includes anything flammable, combustible, explosive or corrosive. For example: gasoline, diesel, lighter fluid, propane tanks, kerosene, motor oil, paint thinner, fireworks, chemicals or solvents, pressurized canisters, etc. If it's labeled hazmat or has a risk of catching fire/exploding, it's not allowed.
  • Weapons and explosives: Firearms, ammunition, fireworks, gunpowder, or any kind of explosive device are strictly prohibited. (Even if you have a permit for them, we can't store them for liability reasons.)
  • Illegal items or substances: Anything illegal to possess (such as illicit drugs or stolen property) obviously cannot be stored with us. We cooperate with authorities as needed to enforce this.
  • Perishable goods: Food, produce, or other items that can spoil or attract pests are not allowed. Canned or sealed non-perishable food might be allowed for short durations, but generally we advise against storing any food items. Also, no plants or anything alive that needs care – our warehouse isn't suitable for keeping plants alive and they could attract insects.
  • Living creatures: No live animals, insects, or pets (and certainly no humans!). We do not provide care for living creatures – nothing that breathes, please.
  • Strong odor or scent items: Things that are very odorous (like certain chemicals or even overly fragrant items) which could affect other items in storage are not allowed.
  • High-value or irreplaceable items (with caution): We recommend not storing extremely valuable items like large amounts of cash, precious jewelry, or one-of-a-kind heirlooms/art without discussing with us. It's not that we ban them outright, but standard insurance might not cover their full value, and you might require special arrangements.

In general, if an article is dangerous, illegal, perishable, or likely to cause damage to other stored articles, it's not allowed. If you're unsure about a specific article, feel free to ask us. We'll gladly clarify whether we can store it or not.
